Vision Statement:
St. Mary's Primary strives to be a welcoming Christ-centred learning community that promotes a quality holistic
education and trusting relationships in a caring and supportive environment.
Acknowledgment of Country: We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Wiradjuri people, who, long before us, lived, loved, educated and raised their children on this site. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and we recognise the young people who are our future. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in our community. We respect their deep physical and spiritual connections to the country through their stories, traditions and living cultures.
Character Virtue: R E S P E C T
What it looks like: Respect showing that you value and care about other people's feelings and ideas. It's like giving everyone a fair chance and being kind to them.
What it means: Respect is treating others the way you want to be treated. It means listening to people, not making fun of them, and being polite.
Why it is important: Respect helps create a friendly and peaceful world where everyone can get along. When we respect each other, we build trust and good relationships.

Gerard Yeo Shield
This Thursday, our Year 6 students will compete in the Gerard Yeo Shield against students from Year 6 students from St. John’s Primary, St. Laurence’s School, and St. Pius X School. Students will participate in various sports, including league tag, netball, soccer, an academic challenge, chess, and a liturgy. This is a very special day for the Catholic Primary Schools in which staff and students take time to honour the memory of a former student, Gerard Yeo, who was killed in the 2002 Bali bombings, promote a sense of unity amongst the Catholic Primary Schools, provide an opportunity for Year 6 students to compete in sporting and academic events, build school spirit and encourage good sportsmanship and teamwork and share our Catholic faith in liturgy before they progress to St. Johns College. Thank you to Mrs Nuttall, Year 6 teachers, and teachers from the other schools who have assisted with organising this day.

Wellbeing
PEER SUPPORT:
In the final session of Living Positively, children reflect on all they have learned. They remember to think optimistically, persevere, and use positive self-talk. Children learn about a model; I laugh, I live, I love. This helps them remember activities they enjoy, their strengths, and to show appreciation to others. Discuss with your child ways to live positively.

We Are Allergy Aware
Anaphylaxis is a severe and potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. We want to do our best to keep those at risk, as safe as possible. We have several children at our school who have allergies to peanuts and tree-nuts.
It is important for the safety of these children that we ask that you don't send any nuts or nut products to school.
This includes foods such as peanut butter, Nutella, hazelnut spreads, trail mix or muesli bars/biscuits that contain nuts.
Please help us maintain the health and well-being of all our students by considering this information when packing lunches for your child.
We appreciate your support.
