    Vision Statement:
St. Mary's Primary strives to be a welcoming Christ-centred learning community that promotes a quality holistic
education and trusting relationships in a caring and supportive environment.

Acknowledgment of Country:  We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Wiradjuri people, who, long before us, lived, loved, educated and raised their children on this site.  We pay our respects to elders past and present, and we recognise the young people who are our future.  We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in our community.  We respect their deep physical and spiritual connections to the country through their stories traditions and living cultures.

    Character Virtue:   R E S P O N S I B I L I T Y
Responsibility means doing the right thing, even when it is not fun, cool, or noticed by anyone.  Responsibility and leadership often go hand in hand, and leaders must be not only organised but also prepared to take the blame if something goes wrong.  It's like being something that God can count on.

    From the Principal

    Mr Luke Wilson
    Principal

    Dear Parents,

    Welcome to Week 10.
It was great to see our 2025 Kindergarten students and their families at school last week for their first transition session. We look forward to welcoming them back to school early next term.
As another term ends this Friday, I thank all the parents, students and staff for all your hard work, enthusiasm and energy over the past ten weeks.  As a Catholic school, it is easy to see the hand of God at work in the generosity and support of many people. I am grateful for the caring actions and commitment of staff and parents who volunteer so generously in so many ways to make our school such a wonderful place.

I wish all the students an enjoyable holiday.
School resumes for Term 4 on Monday, 14th October.

Whole School Assembly - This afternoon, we held our Whole School Assembly, a significant event celebrating student achievements.  At this assembly, we announced and congratulated the students who had been awarded a Citizenship Award for Term 3.  These students were recognised for their positive attitude, behaviour, and work to the best of their ability in the classroom and for their qualities as good citizens.

    CONGRATULATIONS!

Gerard Yeo Shield - This Thursday, our Year 6 students will compete in the Gerard Yeo Shield against other Year 6 students from St. John’s Primary, St. Laurence’s School, and St. Pius X School. Students will participate in various sports, including league tag, netball, soccer, an academic challenge, chess, and a liturgy. This is a very special day for the Catholic Primary Schools in which staff and students take time to honour the memory of a former student, Gerard Yeo, who was killed in the 2002 Bali bombings, promote a sense of unity amongst the Catholic Primary Schools, provide an opportunity for Year 6 students to compete in sporting and academic events, build school spirit and encourage good sportsmanship and teamwork, share our Catholic faith in liturgy and promote a sense of unity amongst the Year 6 students before they progress to St. Johns College. Thank you to Mrs Nuttall, Year 6 teachers, and teachers from the other schools who have assisted with organising this day.

Canteen Volunteers Needed - We are short of volunteers for our canteen this Friday.  We understand that everyone is busy but if you can help, please get in touch with the School Office (6882 4790).  If volunteers cannot help out, we won't be able to offer lunch orders this Friday.

Monday Uniform - All students will wear their full summer uniform in Term 4.

    Sport

Polding Cricket - Congratulations to George Finlay who was selected in the Polding Cricket trials last week in Lismore.  George will now play for Polding at the NSWPSSA Cricket Championships Term 4, Week 1 in Armidale.

    What a wonderful achievement George!
